Watchful for the Country: In W.Va., communication never sleeps

By Staff Sgt. Zoe Morris

The Joint Task Force - National Scout Jamboree office of command, control, communications, and computers/cyber (J-6) ensures that even in the rural hills of southern West Virginia the message gets through.

Military members from all branches of service are providing critical support for Scouting America’s National Jamboree from July 17-31, 2026, near Glen Jean, West Virginia.

The West Virginia Air National Guard’s 130th and 167th Airlift Wings Communications Squadrons collaborated with the West Virginia National Guard Joint Forces Headquarters J6 as a critical component of the JTF-NSJ. Through coordinated planning, communications, logistics, medical support, public safety, emergency management and other mission capabilities, participating organizations are helping provide a safe, secure and successful event for Scouts, volunteers and visitors. This whole-of-government and community partnership demonstrates the value of interagency cooperation while supporting youth development, public service and national preparedness.
