The 111th Engineer Brigade, based in Eleanor, WV, provides essential engineering and support capabilities to civil authorities across West Virginia. In 2025, the Brigade focus was lethality and warfighter readiness, utilizing the specialized skills of its three battalions. The 1092nd Engineer Battalion provided combat engineers, horizontal and vertical construction assets; the 771st Troop Command provided military police, ordnance support, and logistical capabilities; and the 772nd Troop Command/Aviation Battalion offered critical aerial lift and reconnaissance. These combined assets enhance the state’s disaster response and infrastructure resilience.

The 111th Engineer Brigade supported flood relief efforts in six southern West Virginia counties (Mingo, McDowell, Logan, Wayne, Wyoming, and Mercer) from February 22 to March 28, 2025. Utilizing 15 Civilian Assistance Teams (CAT) and Loader Dump Teams (LDT), the Brigade removed over 17,000 tons of debris with the support of 300 Soldiers and Airmen and 103 pieces of engineer equipment.

The 111th Engineer Brigade enhanced its large-scale combat operation (LSCO) proficiency through a simulation exercise with the 1st Armored Division from 7-21 October. The event validated the Brigade’s ability to provide essential engineer support – including movement facilitation, bridging, route clearance, and construction – in a complex operational environment.
