Col. Bryan Preece, 130th Airlift Wing Commander, describes Fly Away Readiness Exercise Validation (FLARE-V) 2023 August 31, 2023 at McLaughlin Air National Guard Base, Charleston, W.Va. Approximately 400 Airmen from the 130th Airlift Wing, Charleston W.Va. are deploying with four C-130 J-30 Super Hercules Cargo Aircraft to the Gulfport Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC), Miss. from September 7th - September 10th, for FLARE-V 2023, a readiness exercise to assess the unit members ability to operate in a war time environment.
