Spotlight: Master Sgt. Staci Lentz

The West Virginia National Guard Spotlight for July 7, 2024, is Master Sgt. Staci R. Lentz from Shanghai, W.Va., Lentz has dedicated 19 years to military service. Now living in Inwood, W.Va., Lentz is an Aerospace Medical Technician at the 167th Medical Group, 167th Airlift Wing, overseeing Laboratory Services.

Since enlisting in 2005, Lentz has held various roles, including NCOIC of Search and Extraction Medics for the WV CERFP. Her exceptional educational background includes AAS degrees in Medical Laboratory Technology, Paramedicine, and Practical Nursing, along with a BA in Emergency and Disaster Management. While also holding National Registered Paramedic and Flight Paramedic certifications.

Beyond her Guard duties, Lentz is a paramedic and enjoys horseback riding, hiking, and kayaking. Her advanced medical skills and real-world experience greatly benefit her role.

Lentz aims to move into management positions in both her civilian and military careers. She fondly recalls Search and Extraction training at Camp Dawson and meeting the Secretary of the Air Force.

Some advice Lentz would give to anyone ready to enlist: "Embrace the opportunities and training provided by the WVNG. It is my home. It is where I belong."
