TAG Holiday Message to the Force

By Maj. Gen. Crane

As we bring 2023 to a close and look towards the new year, I just want you to know how very proud I am of our entire One Guard family.

Throughout 2023, the West Virginia National Guard exemplified the National Guard motto of “Always Ready, Always There.” From scheduled overseas deployments, emergency and sustained domestic operations at home and across the U.S., to supporting critical emerging operations in the Middle East and Europe, we shined and demonstrated exactly why we are a premier military organization. Thank you for all you do and your commitment to your state and nation.

Looking ahead to 2024, our mission tempo continues to grow with opportunities to contribute to our national defense, provide for our homeland security, contribute to economic development here in the Mountain State, and to live our truest West Virginia values as citizen-Soldiers. You are what makes this organization great. You live the values that are instilled and expected every day.

As we enjoy some well-earned down time, I want everyone to spend time with your families, enjoy their company, recharge your own batteries, and take time to appreciate all we are blessed with in our Nation. I also want each Soldier and Airman to watch out for one another and keep each other safe and healthy.

It is the greatest honor of my life to serve you and our organization. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year to all!!
