TAG Thanksgiving Message to the Force

“Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is a true measure of our thanksgiving.” – W.T. Purkiser, American Scholar

Wearing the uniform of our Nation is a privilege and a blessing. Only a small percentage of our population will ever know the pride and the honor of being a member of our Armed Forces. To represent and serve our fellow West Virginians and fellow Americans both here at home and abroad, and to continue to build upon the distinguished legacy of those who served before us, demonstrates and exemplifies the true measure and importance of who we are as an organization, and as individuals.

As we enter into the holiday season, let each of us reaffirm our commitment to take care of ourselves and one another. Let us reflect on all the things we must be grateful for and recommit ourselves to defending the freedoms we cherish. Let us remember and honor our brothers and sisters at arms who are deployed around the world, including the members of our very own #OneGuard family.

And let us continue to use our blessings well.

From my heart, and from the entire WVNG leadership team, we want you to know we are thankful for each Airman and Soldier, our families, our veterans, our retirees and our civilians for all that you and they do to make our Guard a continuing community of excellence and among the most professional and capable military organization in the world.

Happy Thanksgiving!
