West Virginia Adjutant General’s update on RISE West Virginia
Since our last update, contractors with the RISE West Virginia program completed one final inspection, bringing the total number of completed homes to 233.
There are currently 38 homes in active construction through four different contractors in the housing program. Of the 38 homes in active construction, 32 are reconstruction projects, one is a rehabilitation project and four are mobile home units. Three of the aforementioned projects are in demolition and six additional projects were slated for final inspection this week.
There are 266 active cases in the RISE West Virginia program. The current breakdown by construction type is as follows: 233 homes are complete, 131 cases require total reconstruction, two cases require some form of rehabilitation actions, and 37 cases require new mobile home replacement.
The Clearance and Demolition program has completed 18 projects. At this time, there are 266 projects in the active case management process and 100 of those projects are in environmental review process. The Clearance and Demolition program is still accepting applications in all counties affected by the 2016 flood.
VOAD crews continue to work on the 21st and 22nd bridge home projects. VOAD currently has 41 bridge projects in the case management process.
