CHARLESTON, W.Va. –
Over the past week, contractors with the West Virginia RISE program completed two additional reconstruction projects, bringing the total number of completed homes to 200.
There are currently 41 homes in active construction through four different contractors in the housing program. Of the 41 homes in active construction, two are mobile home replacements, 38 are reconstruction projects, and one is a rehabilitation project.
There are 201 active cases in the RISE West Virginia Program. The current breakdown by construction type is as follows: 200 homes are complete, 154 cases require total reconstruction, four cases require some form of rehabilitation actions, 42 cases require new mobile home replacement and one is undergoing the initial intake process.
The Clearance and Demolition program case completion remains at eight total projects. At this time, there are 263 projects in the active case management process and 72 of those projects are in environmental review process. The Clearance and Demolition program is still accepting applications in all counties affected by the 2016 flood.
VOAD crews are continuing to work on the 19th and 20th bridge home projects. There are currently 18 projects complete and 60 in case management.
