Over the past week, contractors with the West Virginia RISE program have completed four additional reconstruction projects, bringing the total number of completed projects to 187. One mobile home unit in Clay and three reconstruction projects (Clay and Greenbrier) are ready for final inspection this week.

There are currently 50 homes in active construction through four different contractors in the housing program. Of the 50 homes in active construction, four are mobile home replacements, 45 are reconstruction projects, and one is a rehabilitation project.

There are 225 active cases covered under the RISE West Virginia Program. The current breakdown by construction type is as follows: 187 homes are complete, 171 cases require total reconstruction, four cases require some form of rehabilitation actions, 49 cases require new mobile home replacement and one is undergoing the initial intake process.

Of the total 225 active cases, 188 have been awarded to a construction contractor or sub-recipient. The remaining projects are out to bid or being awarded under the new code approved by the state legislature this winter.

The Clearance and Demolition program case completion remains at eight total projects.  At this time, there are 270 projects in the active case management process. Seventy-eight projects are in environmental review process and seventy-one of those that have been completed and are ready to move forward. An additional seventy-two projects have been submitted to begin the review process. One notice to proceed has been issued to contractors meaning this project is ready for demolition.

Thirty additional projects are expected to be completed by the end of June. The Clearance and Demolition program is still accepting applications in all counties affected by the 2016 flood.

VOAD crews recently completed work on the 17th bridge home project and are working on completion of the 18th project which will service three families. Seventeen bridges are complete, and there are 58 others in the case management process.
