MARTINSBURG, W.Va. –
Airman 1st Class David Moubray is an aerospace propulsion specialist for the 167th Maintenance Squadron and enlisted in the 167th Airlift Wing in 2017.
“I have always idolized and respected the military,” he said. “After high school I was about to enlist with the Marine Corps until a friend of mine who works here told me about the Air Guard. After listening to him talk about the 167th, I knew that it would be a better fit for me.”
As a propulsion specialist, Moubray is responsible for ensuring the 167th AW’s C-17 Globemaster III aircraft engines are operational and ready to go at a moment’s notice.
Moubray is working on a Bachelor of Science in sports and health science through American Military University.
“My goal is to become a pilot here at the 167th after I finish my degree,” he said.
Moubray’s supervisor, Master Sgt. Robert Abbott, said Moubray is a perfect example of a model Airman who displays the Air Force Core Values every day.
“He isn’t afraid to go to work and is eager to go to work on whatever job comes into the shop. He consistently steps up to the plate and asks if any work needs to be done,” Abbott said.
Moubray’s hobbies include working out, hunting, snowboarding, and most recently working to complete his private pilot’s license.
Abbott said he looks forward to Moubray becoming a rising star in the propulsion shop.
