Headquartered in Glen Jean, the 77th has subordinate battalions around the state, including the 1/201st FA BN with Alpha Battery in Elkins, Bravo Battery in Morgantown, Charlie Battery in Lewisburg, and the 1201st Forward Support Company in Kingwood. The 1/150th CAV has the Headquarters and Headquarters Troop in Brushfork, Alpha Troop in Holden/Gassaway, Bravo Troop in Eleanor, Charlie Troop in Glen Jean and Company Delta(-) Forward Support Company, Brigade Support Battalion in Glen Jean. The 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group(SFG) Airborne(A) in Kenova These units are always ready to respond to national, regional, and local threats.
Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment main mission is the Command and Control(C2) element for the Homeland response Force(HRF). Training for the Unit is focused on being prepared to respond to CBRNE operations in FEMA region III.
The Unit also has a significant impact regarding the National Scout Jamboree every three years. HHD 77th Brigade(BDE) Troop Command(TC) provides administrative, logistical and operational support to their J staff directorates.
The 77th BDE TC provides direct logistics, administrative, and operational support as well, to the battalions, including equipment maintenance and supply distribution.
Over the course of training year 2025, the 77th BDE TC executed a diverse set of missions in support of both state and federal requirements, while maintaining a strong focus on basic Soldier tasks by completed Individual Weapons Qualification(IWQ) at Camp Dawson in Kingwood, WV.
The BDE conducts year-round Annual Training to support the subordinate battalions. Soldiers assisted with administrative taskings to allow the battalions to better be able to conduct their operation mission and meet their METS.
In addition to training, the 77th BDE TC played a critical role in domestic response operations. The 77th BDE TC was called to the nation’s capital in support of Operation Safe and Beautiful. The battalion provided more than 18 Soldiers to serve as the Command-and-Control element of Task Force HRF and to accompany law enforcement entities in patrolling the District of Columbia to enable the restoration of law and order as well as provided administrative support and augmentation of the District of Columbia National Guard’s J staff directorates. The 77th BDE TC also supported state flood response missions, assisting local communities, again demonstrating the brigade’s readiness to respond to emergencies at a moment’s notice.
