Engine Regional Repair Center

The Engine Regional Repair Center (ERRC), located at the 130th Airlift Wing in Charleston, was developed after identifying a shortfall when the U.S. Air Force closed its Air Logistics Center. An eight-man team developed a program at the 130th Airlift Wing to complete repair and overhaul capabilities for C-130 engines and propellers nationwide.

As a result of their innovation, the ERRC has reduced the cost of overhaul from $1.3 million to just over $500,000 per engine and have a throughput of 12-15 engines annually.

This results in a cost savings for taxpayers of more than $10 million annually and the program is looking to expand further.
